Country Life's Total Lipid Control (TLC) is a combination of plant sterol esters of Omega 3 fatty acids and Omega 3 glycerides. Plant sterols are similar in structure to cholesterol and occur naturally in many forms of plant life. Plant sterols regulate the uptake of dietary cholesterol as well as cholesterol produced by the body. Plant sterols may also redirect absorbed cholesterol for excretion. Omega 3 fatty acids support the reduction of triglyceride transport and reduce circulating triglycerides. In a clinical study involving healthy human subjects, Total Lipid Control (TLC) demonstrated the reduction of LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and total cholesterol levels. These subjects were able to maintain healthy HDL levels while supporting a healthier total cholesterol to HDL ratio. This was all done without adversely affecting vitamin absorption, particularly with fat soluble vitamins. Individuals with blood sugar-related issues that contribute to high cholesterol find that Total Lipid Control (TLC) supports healthier blood lipid balance. Total Lipid Control (TLC) was designed to support a healthy reduction in the risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease while eliminating the risk of negative side effects commonly associated with pharmaceutical drugs. What Is Heart Disease? Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the number one cause of death in the United States. The main forms of CVD are coronary heart disease (CHD) and stroke. Coronary heart disease is caused by atherosclerosis: the narrowing of the coronary arteries due to fatty build ups of plaque. There are major factors which, as research has shown, are definitely associated with the increased risk of heart disease.
